My Story

Since having a child, I fully appreciate the importance of capturing those precious moments, so that you can remember them forever.

Time moves fast, children grow quickly, and people change in the blink of an eye.

It is only when you look back on a photograph that you realize how important capturing that moment was.

I believe a photography session should be an enjoyable experience for creating and capturing memories.

If you are looking for a personal and friendly session and photographs that you will be able to cherish and be happy to share with your friends and family, then I may be the photographer for you :)

I have always been passionate about photography, ever since my dearly departed grandad put a film camera in my hand as a child.

Capturing moments in time and sharing them with others is what makes my soul sing.

I have worked with children & families my entire working career, as a qualified nursery nurse for 7 years, then working for the NHS Paediatric speech & language therapy team for over a decade.

I am currently also working for my local council's children services, creating and delivering digital media content.

I knew from the beginning of becoming a professional photographer that Family photography is where my heart is.

Everyone has a story, part of mine is to capture yours!

Feel free to contact me via email at kerryreidphotography@gmail.com if you would like any further information.

The Process

Plan your session

Once I have received your enquiry and you are ready to start the process we can discuss your chosen package via email or telephone and prepare for your photography experience.

We will discuss the timing and location of the shoot, talk through outfits and colour schemes, ages of all models being photographed and their personalities a little.

I will send you my photography contract, that will need to be read, signed and received back before your session commences.

Full payment for your chosen package will need to be made at least 48 hours prior to your session.

I encourage you to read my terms & conditions fully prior to the shoot.

The experience

Once we have booked and planned your session we will then do the photoshoot.

This will either be a portable set up at your home or mine (until my studio is completed) or on location i.e. outdoor lifestlye sessions.

I will use my knowledge and creativity to create and capture your personal portraits.

I prefer a more relaxed candid approach, where I will try to capture the subjects personality by letting them be free to express themselves i.e. if a child is fairly quiet and enjoys reading then I will encourage them to enjoy a book or if they are lively we might play a game!

I aim to capture your families personalities and connections and will offer gentle guidance on posing as we go along.

I can offer a little more support on posing as required during fine art portrait sessions.

Newborn sessions will be delivered with my style, wraps, accessories and safe posing techniques but with your input into colour schemes etc. from the planning consultation.

Bring it to life

This part of the process is where I will spend up to 2 hours per image hand editing it to make it as special as I can for you.

My packages include some prints, as I am passionate about bringing your memories to life. We live in a digital world, where images are stored, lost or forgotten about so easily on drives and social media.

I want to keep that special feeling of when you hold a photograph in your hand or see it in a frame or on your wall and smile at it daily.

Remember how wonderful it is to look through the old photo albums or tin of photographs your parents or grandparents kept.

I want to create something that will be just as special in the future as it is now, family heirlooms!

I only use the highest quality, long lasting print products from a UK print lab for professional photography members that specialize in fine art.

Extra products can be purchased outside of your chosen package, if you should choose to after your session.
